You really need to be creative to cope with all sorts of life moments. I think being a teacher means teaching for life. Design and non-design students should be lead into understanding their own way of problem solving. Teaching is not about answers, it is about the right questions to ask. I use design thinking in every class. My students work together in groups, they use digital media and they collaborate and communicate with outside actors. It is important for me that they deeply understand their own capacities and opportunities and will have the right tools to develop them.

In this course, students will learn how creativity is not only related to the arts but to every aspect of our life and that it does not only regards the citizens and the society but also comes from them. Hence, students will be working with people and co-designing solutions for a sustainable everyday-lifestyle.

A workshop by Davide Fassi and myself at Politecnico di Miiano. Students were asked to come up with tool kits in order to invite people from the nighbourhood to use the space of the campus. This workshop made in 2011 and in 2012, gave life to two long lasting projects: Coltivando and Il sabato della Bovisa. The campus space is now used much more frequently by the citizens of the surroundings.
