Experience  |  Empathy  |  Design for all | Interactive exhibition design

Empathic design; design for all; exhibition and interaction; all come together in an exciting and fully immersive one-week summer school in Piemonte, Italy. During an intensive workshop, the students will be guided to generate creative and innovative concepts for an interactive exhibition about “traveling with (dis)ability”. The summer school is for design, architecture and art students as well as young professionals who would like to challenge their skills and tackle wicked problems and complex contexts. Participants will be given the opportunity to work on a real project and gain professional experience. Available to universities around the world

There is room for one more - opening up your Campus to the surroundings.

Co-design | Temporary solutions | public spaces

Most university campuses are public spaces but are only used by students, teachers and staff. They provide green areas, facilities and indoor spaces that are not used 24/7 by the university community, and thus offer an opportunity for people living in the neighborhood to use these facilities and get in touch with a “hidden” public space.

"There is room for one more” is a five-day workshop ending in a one-day event to showcase ideas. The students are asked to come up with activities to be tested via 3D scenarios, environmental solutions and toolkits. These will provide local people with the right means for using public spaces on university campuses. The toolkits, as tools of social interaction, are applied to investigate new forms of conviviality and to highlight features and the possibilities of using a space that is today restricted solely to an educational use. This form of rapid, brief design experiment allows for quick conclusions which can then be developed towards more stable and ordered solutions.
